So Tender Beef Stroganoff

For such a long time I have always used a packet mix for my Stroganoff. I wanted to create my own, mainly because I wanted to use my slow cooker for extra tender meat. This worked out just perfect! I hunted the web for a few stroganoff recipes and then blended a few together. I used light sour cream as we are watching our calories, but full sour cream does taste soooo much better! Most people have mushrooms in their stroganoff, but I'm not a fan, so you can add them in toward the end if you like.

500G Blade steak cut into thin strips. (I asked my butcher to do this)
2 cups Beef Stock
1 Large Onion finely chopped
1 tsp worcestshire sauce
2 cloves Garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and Pepper to taste.

1 tbsp cornflour
2 tbsp light sour cream.

Place first 6 ingredients into slow cooker and cook for 6 hours. Remove about 1/2 cup of liquid from pot and discard (try and scoop any fat that is on top). Mix together cornflour and small amount of warm water and mix through. This will thicken the sauce. Cook for a further 1/2 hour, stir through sour cream and serve with your favourite pasta or rice..... mmmmmm!
